Macbeth's Speech

Before and After Speech Class

During the first steps in becoming a professional speaker, many of the speeches were terrible. They were supposed to be terrible, not that I purposely made them unappealing, but it was the way of the Webb. However, after writing a few outlines, speaking in front of many peers, teachers, demonstrating, informing, and persuading the audience, improvement showed. I used to always hold a note card to feel more comfortable, and to reminded myself of what I had written in my outline; but now as I began aiming for perfection, I felt comfortable in front of audiences as long as I knew and made it clear to the audience of what my purpose was. Giving zingers to end the speech was a favorite part of the speech process, clear senses of the ending had to be done correctly. Comfort was a problem, but engaging to the audience, keeping them occupied and attracted was another. Through the days of speech class, knowing not only how to write an interesting speech was a serious matter, but also knowing how to grab the focus of the audience to the main points, the idea, was also very important. Variations in tone, giving emotional intonations are crucial and achieved throughout the process of speech perfection. Enhancing hand gestures made clear of what the points are and helpful to attract attention. Now, through practice and aim, the target has been shot down; all the qualities of a beautiful speech has been absorbed in a mind that knows perfectly how to use these qualities.The overall improvement is a wide range, from the terrible murmurs in the beginning to the well-achieved speeches towards the end. Without knowing these skills, and how to use them would have been a great loss in a professional speaker.

Four Sites on Elena Durón Miranda

Site 1
From this original site of Ms. Miranda on CNN, I learned of the existence of this person and the issue in Argentina that is being treated. In Argentina, children younger than three years of age are picking up garbage with their families to sell for profit or for food. This issue, currently in Argentina has broke Ms. Elena Durón Miranda's heart. Thus reacting to this, she has formed a charitable child championing program called PETISOS (Prevention and Eradication of Child Labor SOS) in Argentina dedicated to help these families and it's children to grow and provide them an education. Anyone in the community may sign up to aid these families to teach or to  give them food to eat. Furthermore, Elena's team tracks children in the garbage dumps to observe his or her work habits in order to teach them correctly and without knowing how they would react to their teachings. However, Elena has conducted a trust with these families by helping them find the trash they need. She is a compassionate person and always will be willing to help everyone, she is a true hero.

This website indicates the importance of Ms. Miranda's presence in the hearts of young Argentinean children. It shows that not only people in Argentina completely adore Elena, people around the world are noticing her too. These site persuades people to vote for Ms. Miranda for the next top ten heroes in the CNN Heroes. I have also found out that Ms. Miranda is a psychologists, that explains the observations of children. She is so precise and accurate when it comes to decision making and luckily she had a glimpse of the hardships these children must face. Overall, most people who knows Ms. Miranda is devotional to her and will support all her decisions.

This site demonstrates and shows most of the economic issues in Argentina. Although it is irrelevant towards saving and helping children, it is helpful to know this information because we want to know why the families in Argentina are so poor. Ms. Miranda is a psychologists, so hopefully she understands the difficulties that the families are going through. Also, Argentina's Gross Domestic Product is only about 10,000 US dollars. Furthermore, this site talks about other issues that include freedom, economical loans, and times where Argentina's economy fell the most. With this information, Ms. Miranda and I can find ways to help the people in Argentina.


Site 4
This site provides information of the child rights in Argentina. This is crucial to the speech because what if Ms, Miranda's actions were considered kidnapping in Argentina (very unlikely, but for goodness sake). Although most of the parents and the family members agree to letting their children be taught by PETISOS. Also, Argentina's child laws are based on United Nations child rights. In addition, the laws state that it is voluntary for children to have an education. Elena has just helped free these children from juvenile hall and brought them a better life. In the end, the PETISOS will be able to help lots of children in Argentina and they will most definitely make a change to this world.

Three Heroes: Rick Hansen

Rick Hansen, an ordinary man, started a fundraising program for improvement to people with spinal cord injuries. He himself has a spinal cord injury, due to running in a marathon, he is now in a wheelchair supporting people with spinal cord injuries to have and aquire a more healthy life. For twenty-five years, he has made a marathon for people with spinal cord injuries to have a heathier life, instead of regretting to do everything and to be unhappy with their lives. Furthermore, being passinate and content his his life, Rick has entered many and won lots of awards to wheelchair races. He believes that people like him can make a difference, thus, he also has his own fundraising program giving it to research of spinal cord injuries.

Three Heroes: Elena Durón Miranda

Elena Durón Miranda went to Argentina 11 years ago, and found children as young as three searching for food in landfills. She was heartbroken, she knew she needed to help these poor children and give them a opportunity to learn. thus, she has generated a group called PETISOS, or Prevención y Erradicación del Trabajo Infantil SOS (Prevention and Eradication of Child Labor SOS). Furthermore, without profit, Elena has helped more than 200 children in Argentina and anyone who would like to help can. Elena says that fortunately she was able to help these children and create this program to collect donations and funds for these children. Not only this program helps children, it also helps women's rights and prepare these children for college or university. Elena Durón Miranda is one of the few heroes that is changing the world everyday and providing resources to young children in Argentina.

Three Heroes: Wael Ghonim

Wael Ghonim
Wael Ghonim, former Google executive, is a thirty-year-old Arab that respects civil rights and demands change from a corrupted government. A case involving a dead, young, innocent civilian was killed in police custody inspired him to bring this corruption towards publicity. He began by creating a Facebook page indicating his ideas to maintain a peaceful government. Furthermore,  he then generated a revolution without violence from his culture of fear, by commencing a movement that involved millions of Egyptians. He and his followers did not fight, but they still demonstrated a peaceful and civil revolution. In the end, his revolution ended on Jan 25th with 12 million Egyptians removing Hosni Mubarak and his regime. Wael Ghonim is a smart, peaceful, ordinary man that changes the Arab world a step at a time.

Communications' 3 Sites On New Speech Topic 2


Site 1
This site explains that kidnappers do not have patience and is crueler than I thought. There are two hundred nine victims of kidnapping and murder in Mexico? Where is the humanity, why is it that people just want to live their own lives peacefully without having other people ruin it for them? The Mexican congress should do something about it, no, must do something about it. Do they honestly think that kidnapping is an easy case to crack? What about Murder? Although they did change the penalty from 25 years in jail to 45, what difference does it make? How would they even catch the criminal this way? Stop waiting for kidnappers to show up, start searching for them. I admire groups such as Movement Blanco, for they know this information and they bring it towards the light.

This site is an excellent example of kidnapping in Mexico. Armed men kidnapping people in Ciudad Juarez? Where did they get those guns? This website explains a type of kidnapping called "express kidnapping", which is to get quick cash in exchange for the release of an individual.

Site 3
This site is the best site that shows the different child abduction laws and differences in child abduction laws in the United States and Europe. It also says that parental abduction and its charges are different from general kidnapping and its charges. The Hague Convention is by far the most significant international treaty pertaining to the prevention of international child abduction. They try to help all the cases of kidnapping to the best of their abilities in all over the world. For instance, in Japan, the government believes that the citizen has the right to take their own child even though without custody of the child and without impunity if caught, in other words, parental kidnapping in Japan is legal. However, in America, all kidnapping cases are said to be illegal, but for the parental or general kidnapping, it leaves for the jury to decide. This site will and is already helpful in my speech, thus I shall use it!

Communications' 3 Sites On New Speech Topic

Site 1
I learned in this site that Parental kidnapping is when one of the parents kidnaps the child from the other parent after being divorced. Also, in this case, the father that steals the child from the mom that has the custody of the child does not have any charges pressed against him for the kidnapping. According to the case in Michigan, if you are the true, biological father of the kidnapped child, the kidnapping does not matter. Thus, I can investigate the several laws on parental kidnapping in several countries or areas. Furthermore, explaining the different cases that are charged or uncharged or even dismissed. This would be an interesting topic for me to do my speech on, because the extraordinary circumstances that come in this topic, not everyone would probably know.

Site 2
This site explains the terms used in the court of law to distinguish a victim from the kidnapper, and several other terms I may use within my speech. These terms, such as custody determination or modification, you may have heard of. However, these words are used in the law that tells whether the parental kidnapping is or is not appropriate to bring to the court of justice. Also, the determination of which side the child goes to is according to the law, not what the parents or the child thinks. There may be some times where it is hard to decide, then the judge considers the thoughts of the parents and the child. Lastly this website teaches you these things, because it is part of a parental kidnapping prevention act.

Site 3 taught me that in the United Kingdom, there is an office that helps or deals with parental kidnapping. They are afraid if the child in kidnapped and taken overseas, they cannot help, so they have provided phone numbers for people whom has their child kidnapped. This states that parental kidnapping often takes place, without help the parent with custody of the child may not see their child again. The site also teaches us that there are three broader categories in which the abductions are classified. They are: Abduction, when the child is taken overseas; wrongful retention, where the child is kept in another country waiting to be sent overseas; and lastly, threat of abduction, which is when it is risky that the child is already overseas. This site tells us that in the UK there are agencies that help located kidnapped children by their parent, and it tells us that it is illegal in the UK to kidnap your own child if you do not have his or her custody
