Week 2 SAT Words

Anonymous (adj.) - unknown person; nameless.
Anonymous looks like the word annoy, and when someone is annoying, usually you do not want to get close
to them, thus they are invisible to you.

Antagonist (n.) - the bad guy, villain.
Antagon sounds like a certain polygon, but in this case, "An" is nothing in math and literature. Even if it was a shape, it would be hard to calculate, so everyone hates it.

Archetype (n.) - an original/first idea that has changed into different versions.
I remember in an RPG game that I once played, my character was an archangel. Archangels are the highest ranked class in the game so it was the first.

Arid (adj.) - dry.
Throughout many geography classes, students needed to learn about the different climate regions in the world; and to describe deserts, they were arid.

Assiduous (adj.) - constantly working hard.
Please excuse the language in the following description. Back in Canada, I used to be a nerd, and most people called me a donkey for being a nerd (this was during the time when nerds were still hated). Now I don't work hard, but continue to get straight A's. In yo faces!

Asylum (n.) - refuge; sanctuary; institution for mentally ill, orphans, or prisoners.
I don't remember asylum as a good place for people, but in Batman Arkham Asylum, the people in there were nuts, and batman was my favorite super hero.

You better eat your patties!!!!!
Austere (adj.) - severe and incredibly strict.
Austere reminds me of a my cousin, Austin, his parents were less strict to him than austere.

Banal
Banal (adj.) - dull and common, nothing special; average.
If you cancel out some letters and add a 'd' in Banal, you might just get the word bland, and bland doesn't taste so good.

Bellicose (adj.) - having the intention to fight.
A beer belly is a stomach filled with beer in an alcoholic man in a bar fight.

Benevolent (adj.) - kind and friendly, showing good will.
Be-No-Violent. period.

Guess whom this fellow on the right is. Please put your answer in the comments below
