Week 1 Socialism Applied Torture Words (SAT)

Abbreviate (v.) - to make short or to become short, lengthwise.
Honestly I know what abbreviate means, so idkwtt (I don't know what to write).

Abstinence (n.) - the act to restricting or refraining from.
Absinthe, or the sinful, repulsive, deadly toxin in life should be kept away from anyone. It also has the word "sin" in it.

Ad hoc (adv.) - to consider for a specific purpose.
If you add a hawk to an idea, would that make the idea fly (bad metaphor, but refering to productivity and progress through thought in a one specific thing).

Ad hominem (adj.) - prejudice and stereotypical judgments on a person instead of his or her ideas. MENIMOH DA. In Communications, ad hominem was one of the logical fallacies to avoid.

Adulation (n.) - extreme credibility and praise.
One who adds-your-congrats-ulation makes another person feel flattered from friendly felicitation. Boom.

Adversity (n.) - misfortune
A city is a great place, but the opposite of a city, which is a inversed city is probably not a good place to be. A coin toss can either bring you fortune or misfortune.

Aesthetic (adj.) - having the knowledge or able to relate to beauty.
Cosmetics make people ugly, that's why a-cosmetics make people naturally beautiful.

Amicable (n.) - a friendly solution, or settlement.
The cable connects the TV to the circuit plug. Without the cable's agreement, the TV will not turn on. Now, they have partnerships, they are called Cable TV.


Anecdote (n.) - a flashback of a person's history.
Returning back to the past of gaming, Nintendo and NEC were two big companies that started the gaming industry.

Anachronistic (adj.) - Not according to chronological order.
Chrono means time in Latin I think, and A or an means no. Thus, not time order.
